Friends and Research

My research friends were not necessarily physicists but professionals with whom I collaborated over the years.
The collaboration maybe lasted a few months, maybe a few years or maybe a few decades.

From the time when I trained as a researcher with engineers of various specialties: electronics, energy, electrotechnics, automatition, computer science, mechanics, chemistry, physics etc., I discovered that the key to a good collaboration is not to have secrets, but to say what you think, to say what solution you think of, to learn from every discussion, to reflect on every possible research hypothesis, to identify those interested in solving the problem, to find and to use the material and time resources to check the valid hypotheses.
I learned that theory is beautiful, that scientific models can be viable, but what is most important is that at least a demonstrator or a functional model should be the result of your research.

Equally, I must thank all the technical or non-academic staff who were my friends in my research work.
Many times their contribution could be major in finding solutions to the research questions the group was facing.
Unfortunately, it would be difficult to compile a list of biographies. That's why I'm going to make a list with only their names.

Ethics and integrity in research was, is and will be a delicate subject.
I will try to discuss ethics and integrity in academia and research in a separate section.
I was, I hope, among those who sincerely discussed a scientific idea, a hypothesis, a model.I was never afraid that someone might steal my idea. If he could steal it and put it into practice, I was satisfied that the idea was validated in practice.
